TEMPORAL GULCH

Level: Intermediate (3-C)

Description: For starters, this is not among our favorite rides. It is 4-wheel jeep trail up until Walker Basin. Loose, rocky, steep, hot, dusty, no water, difficult downhill, and not that pretty. Not to mention a fairly long drive. Other than that, I guess the ride is OK. I'm sure you want to do this ride now, huh?

Directions: Take the Sonoita turn (83) off of I-10 and go all the way to Sonoita, head right (west) toward Patagonia, immediately after passing Patagonia High School turn right and stay on that dirt road until you get to the Arizona Trail Parking area. Follow the Temporal Gulch road until you get to Walker Basin and then pick up the single track up to the Wilderness Area. Google Map.

I wish I could say have fun, but only "Rudy" riders will enjoy this (you must have a need to punish yourself physically).

The bottom area is quite beautiful.

You will see this sign about the time you want to die (the climb)

Most of the trail looks like this.
